Below you will find descriptions of this weeks assignments for my seventh grade, eighth
grade and sophomore English classes. I will attempt to have this site updated before Monday
of each week. Please know, however, that a number of factors may alter the schedule. Therefore, there is no substitute for
students attending classes every day and keeping their planners current. As well, I suggest that each student designate one
or more students to be his or her assignment partner so that if a question arises, the student may call the partner for updates. Because
of a change in scheduling format to A/B scheduling, I will list assignments by day rather than date. Therefore, it is imperative
that you remember your day of class.

Reminders! - Each formal
assignment must eventually be an Acceptable to receive a passing grade for the class. If you receive a Still
Working, then revise your work as quickly as possible and return to me.
- Please remember to keep all
of your work for two reasons: (1) It is needed to prove your skills at conference times, and (2) it will be needed to
complete your portfolio at the end of each nine weeks.
- You should keep ALL of your workshop writing and formal
writing, including all drafts and teacher/peer feedback, in a folder.
- Remember that the keys to the
grade you desire in this class are the seven criteria on the Work of the Class Assessment Form. Review often.
- Stay
current on assignments. Take the burden off your shoulders and give yourself a great chance to succeed.
- Remember
that you are a young adult and that two of the keys to success are responsibility and self-discipline.
Thought: The reason both you and I are here is the same: It is to make sure that you succeed at this
level and build a foundation for success in the future.
