Creative Writing, Second Semester
Creative
writing class will be broken into two sections. The first section will feature a writing workshop. The workshop will
encourage writers to write about any subject that they desire in any format that they will wish. The idea is to let the creative
talents take over without restraints. The only requirements are to submit at least one writing per week and to share
upon request some of the writing with the workshop participants.
The second
half of the class period will be devoted to formal writing assigned by the instructor and, perhaps, some critical inspection
of professional writings. The first formal writing will be a magic realism narrative that ought to tax any one's creative
intellect. Following that offering will be work with free verse and fixed form poetry. If time allows, students may attempt
some collaborative efforts, perhaps with a one act play.
If you love writing and have a creative talent, this is
the class for you. However, it is expected that you have high school proficiency in writing skills.
